Great day with Aperture photography. Super chilled out friendly guy who some great ideas and he was super respectful of my boundaries. He shot me with my friend Sammie, and the difference between us is quite big so I was very impressed he managed to shoot us together so effortlessly. Really can’t wait to see the images!

Y’know what! It might not be hugely regular that we get chance to shoot (my fault for get getting my backside down to stunning Wales that often!) but when we do: oh we have a cracking time! :D

Darryl and I have worked together several times over the years now, and each time we have always managed to shoot a style that’s a little different, or use a different cool venue or location... This time we actually had the best of all worlds because we planned to shoot at the awesome place that is Far Forest studio and grounds - as recommended by Darryl. It was my first time working here, but I’d heard literally nothing but good things about the place; so I was VERY much looking forward to it. :D On top of the inspired alternate location we had; we also chatted away in pre-communications about some specific themes to shoot as well. So we really did have it all laid out and ready for good things to happen... Darryl is brilliant with organising too and communicated with the studio/acquired specific outfits for our themes and just did his usual class prep to ensure that we could have the best time working as possible.

So on the day: we had lovely weather - honesty we were blessed with the sunshine! :D It goes without saying that we headed straight to the private outdoor grounds of the studio and literally scraped the barrel of epic ideas and spots to shoot. Darryl is a very visual photographer, so he knows exactly what he wants to achieve and can spot the photo opportunities as quick as a flash... But he also bounced off me running around like an excited child like “oooh look at this and this!” With the sheer happiness of seeing endless scope for picture making. :P Legit: we could’ve shot for two days straight and still come up with new ideas - it’s really great getting into the creative flow with Darryl because he does nail each moment no matter what the light challenges may be, or limitations with framing to do justice to the location and model at the same time. He just gets in the zone and smashes it! As we went indoors for a brew break and to prepare for our indoorsy stuff: a quick peek through the images in-camera and OMG they were good!

So the creativity then continued in the studio with a fabulous 1920’s theme that Darryl wanted to shoot. I love working through the eras and getting the chance to style a specific look so this was right up my street... I’d brought a few bits and pieces which suited the concept - but nowhere near as accurate and fitting as the awesome selection that Darryl provided! He certainly doesn’t go “glass half full” on his shoots and thinks carefully about how he can pull the best out of a specific conceptual pursuit. Again - sublime results!!!

Now we had ever so much catching up to do (which is pretty standard for us haha!) so as you can imagine: there was a heck of a lot of chit-chat from start to finish. But take it from me: whether it’s your first shoot with Darryl or not... He’s a really friendly and sociable person who loves to generate a good rapport. I still remember us hitting it off on that first ever shoot - and the rest is history as they say! :) Darryl is exceedingly professional and decent in his approach. He strives to always make the model feel at ease and happy in shoots which is reassuring and just sets the tone for a very enjoyable day all round with positive and productive atmosphere. He’s got a heart of gold: really.

So yessss, I’m spamming Darryl with yet ANOTHER whopping recommendation. Thank you so much for a lovely day fella - promise we won’t leave it as long til next time. :P

I was very wary with Male photographers due to my history with males in the past, and when Daryl asked me to shoot with him I took him up on a shoot as long as I was able to bring my mum with me. Daryl didn't have a problem with that. Upon our first shooting Daryl gave me some brilliant advice, was easy going and brilliant to work with. I instantly felt at ease/ comfortable working with him. After our first shoot I recieved incredible photos off daryl and couldn't wait to work with him again to achieve many more photos to add to my portfolio. Since then I have worked with Daryl several times, he's created beautiful images for me and captured beautiful images of my pregnancy which I will keep as memories forever. After my pregnancy we had arranged to shoot again but due to the current situation with the coronovirus we have yet to go ahead and plan another shoot. I honestly would recommend darryl to anyone that asked me. He is brilliant

I had another lovely shoot with Darryl last week, this time as a duo with Alexandra Warrilow.

Darryl, as always, was great company and so easy to work with. He communicates what he wants in a kind and easy to understand manner and regularly shows you back of camera shots which is always super helpful.

The day was relaxed, comfortable and (from what I saw on camera) really productive. Many of the images are stunning!

Thanks for another wonderful shoot Darryl and I hope to work with you again soon! Rosie :)

I had my first shoot with Darryl Wednesday at a home studio in Ebbw Vale. We shot for around 2 hours and he was lovely enough to pick me up and drop me back home. At the end of the shoot, he provided me with a memory stick with the images from the shoot on which was nice as it meant I didn't have to wait to see them.

The shoot flowed well, we had some great chats and got some great images.

Highly Recommend!

Another shoot with the very lovely Darryl. This time with make up artist Beautywithin and the very lovely Alex McCue. We all met at studio 58 and Darryl had a clear idea of what he wanted from each model before arrival so we were fully prepared on the day. Darryl is a real joy to model for! He’s respectful, chatty and fun to be around. We all had a great shoot and I hope to work with him plenty more in the future

Thank you Darryl for a wonderful shoot 😊

I worked with Darryl for the first time at the weekend when he booked a four hour shoot with me at Far Forest Studio.

We shot a Stevie Nicks inspired look, as well as some 1920’s flapper outfits so it was a varied and interesting shoot! Darryl is very easy to talk to and our shoot time just flew by. He clearly has a huge passion for photography and his images reflect that, those I’ve seen so far are beautiful.

I’d recommend Darryl to other models and will be shooting with him again very soon. Thanks for such a lovely shoot Darryl :)
