male orange-tip feeding on Hawthotn blossom . I think I almost prefer the colouring on the undersides of Orange-tips , I really like the way the greenish colour is actually made up of black and yellow dashes , a bit like a Seurat painting , the little dash of orange at the edge of the wing is the beak mark left from where a bird has tried to catch the insect and you can see the colour of the upper wing
