Matthew Vickerstaff

I'm Matthew Vickerstaff, Also known as Darkwave Art, Matt Vickerstaff, Matt Listenable, Matt Peaceville. Search for either on FB as i'm rarely on here. I set this up to help find a model for a shoot but i generally do a shout out on FB first as i have a few models i'm happy working with.

I create artwork for bands, mainly in the extreme metal genres.
I work both as a full time freelancer or as the main graphics guy for Peaceville Records, Listenable Records. I get to do lots of fun projects and sometimes need models. Hence why i am here.

I'm most well know for my work with Cradle of Filth, My Dying Bride, Darkthrone, Gojira etc. Ive worked with Listenable Records and Peaceville Records pretty much full time for over 10 years now as part of my freelance business. I have also done work for Hellfest, was the Trondheim Metal Fest designer for many years over in Norway. I've worked many legendary bands, especially duing my time at Earache Records and Kerrang where i worked on projects for the likes of Godflesh, Morbid Angel, Carcass, Metallica, Green Day and many more. Having said all that i do still work with smaller bands with smaller budgets, they usually have far more fun with their concepts and thats usually when i'm on here looking to collaborate. 

As a result of this work I sometimes use photographers, models, clothing designers.
A lot of the photos i personally shoot are low quality images that i manipulate into cover work or use as reference for drawings. Examples are in my portfolio of the model work i have done. I do a lot of digital Photoshop work.

MY work sometimes pays, sometimes doesn't. I work to budgets that are not always in my control, I always make sure you get the best possible images from the final work i do. I try to be as open and honest about the project as i can so n oo ne is in the dark about who is getting what and why.
