As I do not need to make a living as a photographer I tend to work only on shoots that interest me which tend to be on the darker side visually - fetish and bondage. Although the imagery is dark the sessions I have had are always a lot of fun and there is plenty of laughter all round. Saying that, the act of rigging must always be taken extremely seriously and the model's limits always respected. Bondage can only happen if it is totally consensual at all stages. I would hate for a model ever to feel uncomfortable at any point during the shoot with what we are doing. Sessions should be fun!

My intention is to create a realistic scenario for the eventual viewer and produce images that the model and myself will both be proud of. I try to be as artistic as possible with lighting and image manipulation in post production to create something more than just a straight picture of a damsel in distress. I try to leave a lot to the imagination.

Recently I have been experimenting with composite pictures from previous shoots to create small snapshots of fantasy stories. Hopefully the viewer can use their imagination to think what led up to the image and what might happen afterwards. I then add a caption that I hope invokes the lighter side of bondage situations.

I have taught a few models the basics of how to rig so that they have an added skill which can be called upon in other shoots with other models and in some cases they have become extremely good at it as I can confirm from first hand experience! So always happy to teach models 'the ropes' if they so wish or to work with models who want to see if they want to try bondage for the first time but in a safe environment where they can test their limits with no pressure should they have second thoughts half way through.
