I had the pleasure of an all-day shoot with Darcy. I knew it was going to be a good 'un; Darcy's pre-shoot communications had been excellent so, on shoot day, we were able to hit the ground running.

Darcy is a delight to work with. She's creative, enthusiastic, energetic, and is good with make up and has a good eye for styling. As well as all that she has a lovely unpretentious personality and a great sense of humour, so the shoot was not only very productive but was also hugely enjoyable.

Darcy and I had our first shoot this past weekend and I couldn't be happier with the result. From the first message, pre-comms were amazing and I knew we'd hit it off. The idea for the shoot changed several times before we ended up meeting, and by the time we met for this one all the advance collaboration made shooting a breeze.

Darcy and her pre-arranged chaperone were on time and a blast to work with from the first set-up. I always appreciate extra hands on a shoot, and Amber was ready to jump in to help with anything we needed (outfit changes, holding lights, makeup retouches). The shoot lasted much longer than I usually plan for, but only because it was so much fun, and I'm sure we all would have happily kept shooting if it didn't get so cold!

I can't remember the last time I walked away with so many portfolio worthy images for what was essentially a test shoot, and am already thinking bigger for our next shoot in April than I initially was. Darcy is new to modelling but she definitely has something special. I can't wait to see where she goes, can't wait to work with her again, and already feel like we're old friends. If you get the chance to book her, do it.

Busy downloading the images and tidying up the studio following a fabulous first shoot with the delightful Darcy Bennet. Dealing with Darcy has been a pleasure throughout. Her pre-shoot communications were excellent. In fact we exchanged quite a few messages, discussing costumes and ideas.

On the day of the shoot, Darcy arrived at the studio early and well-prepared - with make-up and hair already done, and bag-loads of costumes and accessories, ready to mix with ours. She seemed to have boundless energy and threw herself into the shoot with enthusiasm and panache. An additional "plus" for my style of vintage work is that Darcy has absolutely no tattoos. None. Not even a small one! So we spent the morning working a vintage style fitness set, concentrating on posture and poses. She did a variety of vintage exercises as would have been taught to girls say fifty or sixty years ago.

To make it look more authentic, she wriggled into a variety of vintage-style girdles and shapewear - which lent the sets some additional authenticity. All of which looked gorgeous on her classically hour-glass-shaped figure. We even found a few minutes to work on some component-stills for some stop-frame animations - which interestingly are rolling off the camera as I type!

After a short break for a light lunch, we spent the afternoon shooting some lovely vintage style dresses she brought with her. We wound the shoot up with a theatrical set featuring a lovely corset she brought with her - c/w simulated stage lighting, and a fog machine to add a little extra atmosphere.

As arranged, she brought an old friend, Amber, as her chaperone. Amber was lovely and actually appeared in a few shots too: e.g. lacing Darcy's corset and correcting her posture. This gave the shoot a delightfully old fashioned and theatrical feel. It was a lot of fun too. In fact there were occasions when we all quite literally fell about the place laughing.

All-in-all this was a fantastic first shoot. Darcy is very welcome back to my studio as soon as we can arrange it. Lovely model, lovely person and very highly recommended.

I had my second shoot with Darcy on Saturday and it was even better than the first. Having shot in the autumnal colours at Wisley a month ago we both fancied a change of scene and Darcy suggested Old Portsmouth. It turned out to be the perfect location for the kind of shots we were after. Pre-shoot comms were as good as ever. Darcy has lots of creative ideas and it was a pleasure to chat online about the images were hoping to achieve from the shoot.

Darcy arrived on time and we quickly got to work, as the weather forecast for the rest of the day was not great. Darcy has been working hard at her posing, and found it much easier to get into it this time than she did at Wisley, and we were very quickly building up a host of great shots on my camera, despite the rather strong wind that was blowing her hair across her face every few seconds.

Despite it being a little on the chilly side Darcy did not complain once, and we gradually worked our way along the seafront, trying to get as many shots in different locations as possible before the rain came down. We just about made it to the pub for lunch before it poured down, but that gave us the perfect excuse to chat and plan further shoots, because, yes, we will definitely be working together again in the future, and I am already looking forward to it. Thank you Darcy for another fantastic day shooting - the images look great!

I had such a great first shoot with Darcy yesterday. Darcy is new to PurplePort, and was a little nervous about this being one of her first shoots, so she suggested we go to RHS Gardens Wisley as our location for a natural light shoot. I could not have been happier with this suggestions as Wisley was stunning at this time of year with its autumnal colours.

Pre-shoot comms were faultless. We spent a lot of time online discussing ideas for the kind of shots we would both like, and I created a shared Pinterest board that Darcy also used to show me images that she liked. These ideas proved invaluable as we both arrived with a clear view as to what we both wanted from the day.

Darcy arrived on time with her friend as a chaperone, which we had agreed right from the start. This was one of Darcy's first shoots for a long time and she was lacking in confidence to start with, but it was not long before she relaxed and her natural, bubbly personality started to shine in the images. Darcy has a fantastic range of expressions but struggles to relax her face into the composed model "look" and as I am still building my experience as a photographer it was a challenge for me to help her with this. However, Darcy takes direction very well and will do her very best to please, and my showing her the images as we went along really helped her, and it was great to see her self-confidence soar throughout the day. The images towards the end of the day are some of the best portraits I have ever taken, and Darcy looks stunning in them.

Darcy is great fun to shoot with and talk to, and she has seemingly limitless energy, which kept me going all day, and this made for a truly fun day shooting in a lovely location. The only problem was that the time flew by so quickly.

I would highly recommend shooting with Darcy, although please don't book her up to much as I can't wait to work with her again.

I have done two shoots with Darcy, both were informal in nature and for fun. Darcy was on time, prepared well and ready to shoot on arrival. She was nervous but willing to try and worked hard to get the shots we both wanted. I have no doubt that with more time in front of the camera Darcy will be a confident, versatile and great model.

I recommend her and will be working with her again.
