"I FELT SO INSECURE...."
Insecurity can be one of the most painful and damaging things to yourself and to others around you but it can also be one of the hardest things to overcome.
Not so many years ago I felt very insecure. Insecure in myself, my body, my face, my abilities and insecure in who I was as a person. I would try and change myself all of the time with the justification "Well when I have my hair like that I will be good enough..."
I then strated to practice self love daily ❤️
For me, that looked like saying one thing about myself that I liked that day... Something about my appearance that day or the fact that I was kind to someone.
I then started to feel grateful for all that I am and all that I have been given in my life so far.
I began to notice that by focusing and staying in gratitude some of those insecurities melted away or became insignificant....
Why? Well because I wasn't focused on lack or what I wasn't or what I didn't have... But what I had, what I was and what I am grateful for ❤️🙏
I always get asked by people... don't you get embarrased or nervous doing shoots.
Well yes, of course I do.
Before every shoot I always feel nervous and have that little voice in the back of my head that is trying to sabotage but I ignore that voice and give it my all and usually love every moment 🙏
I remember my first ever shoot with @avantburlesque I was so nervous.
I felt worried that I wouldn't be good enough or would just look silly.
He gave me so much confidence which led me to be able to do the shoots I do now. So thanks Phil ❤️
What I love about doing shoots is how every photographer will shoot you differently, because they all see the beautiful parts of you in a different way.
This shot was taken by the amazing @thelemacreativephotography ❤️ I absolutely adore working with female photographers and she was one of the best and I can't wait to work with her again...
So the moral of the story is...
It's ok to feel insecure. Because you're human. We all do.
But.... Focus on gratitude and remember...
