Hello.  I was on PP about a year ago as Wyrd Images, then unemployment and depression kind of overwhelmed everything.  I withdrew into myself and ended up burning bridges all over the place.  It wasn't pretty.  Anyway, following a change of medication and various other things, I found my old Canon bridge camera (unemployed, remember?) and took a few shots at the local cemetery on a government-mandated fitness excursion and thought, "why don't I reopen my old PurplePort account?".

So in the interests of improving my mental health by attempting to return to something I enjoyed doing in the past, I'm coming back.  One day I may even be able to afford some decent gear...

Stuff you might be interested in: I mostly shoot at gigs, trying to capture that elusive moment.  When it happens, it's like a lightning bolt and you know you've got a good shot.  Shooting with models is something new for me, but I tend to just ask them to do their thing and I'll grab some shots when it feels right.  The best art is collaborative, with everyone and everything working together to trap lightning in a bottle, and that's what I try to achieve when taking photos.

Sometimes I do it.  That shot of Brother Pain is one of those lightning strikes (although I had to apply a little polish to make it stand out).
