This is the part that I love to hate! Trying to grind down what any of us do or what your history is, into a couple of lines, anybody ever hear "A picture is worth a thousand words"? If your reading this, you've got way to much time on your hands.
My philosophy on photography… look, see, feel, inquire, collaborate, rationalize, push the dam button, and never apologize.
Me? Thats a even bigger bore! I suppose I was one of the lucky ones in that, except for two years in high school, I have never taken a photography course. Lucky that my art teacher was Norm Stewart, A great screen printer, who managed to get it through my thick teenage skull, that "its not how you did a work, but why". I use that to this day! Thanks Norm.
I became a commercial advertising photographer in Chicago for thirty five years and had a bang up time doing it. Being a pro and having my own place and my own equipment and access to just about anyone and anything allowed me to continue my artwork as my advocation, while shooting commercial that kept the phone from being disconnected. I don't chase awards or recognition (I do like to show off now and again, but thats a personal problem) Just as in the commercial photo world, hanging out with your peers only helps make you a better artist. Thats what I'm here for all the substantial work that's collected here by the greats and near greats
