I first saw an image like this on the cover of a Vinyl Single from a 90's band called Curve with their track "fait accompli" I was fascinated with what it was and discovered it was a vegetable called Romanesco that displayed a fractal type pattern. In all my time shopping I never saw one at the fruit and veg section, I bought seeds and tried to grow some, the seedlings died, wondering about the local market last week ans spotted one! bought it instantly explaining to the vendor I had no interest in eating it I just wanted to photograph it! he looked at me like I had 2 heads.
