It is said that experience counts and I’d usually agree. Kristina knocked this theory on the head yesterday. She walked into my studio with almost no modelling experience and killed it.

She was lit with a PIXAPRO LED200D MKII at 45 degrees above and looking down. A reflector card was place on the opposite side of her face to provide a little light.

The backdrop was lit with a gridded PIXAPRO LED100D MKII+ .

The camera was a Sony A7RII with a Sony FE 24 – 70 F2.8 GM lens.

Basic adjustments were made in Lightroom. In Photoshop, blemishes were removed and the skin was retouched.

The model was selected using Select and Mask and an inverse mask created. The background was replaced with a canvas texture. Curves, Hue/Saturation, and Colour Balance layers were applied to the background only.

Her skin was dodged and burned. A slight vignette was added. The image was selectively sharpened (eyes, lips, hair) and the image graded with a LUT.
