My name is Lydia and I'm a London-based photographer and retoucher.
I've been interested in photography for a long time. As someone who did a bit of modelling in my youth, from fetish to fashion, it was a natural progression to pick up the camera myself. My aesthetic is dark, timeless and fairytale, my work is feminist and fine art, and my inspirations range from vintage glamour and haute couture to the grotesque and macabre. I love to juxtapose beauty with wildness, darkness and Lynchian strangeness.
I like to shoot with non-traditional models, for me charisma is more important than model-perfect looks and figures. I enjoy shooting on location and outdoors, and I have a punk ethos of DIY and experimentation - I'm not a high tech photographer and I'll work with natural light or speedlights where I can. (However I do like to spend a lot of time in photoshop afterwards playing with images to bring out surreal or hyperreal elements.)
I'm here to build up a body of work to exhibit and meet similarly-minded photographers and models. I shoot on a Canon 5D mark III usually with either 35mm or 85mm lens.
