Paul Lam

Hi... My name is Paul Lam, I am a freelance photographer based in Gillingham Kent.

first introduced to film photography in my early teens by a close friend, i fell in love with the idea of capturing the emotion of a moment, someone once said to me a photograph is a reflection of life, It's for this reason that I will always primarily be a reportage photographer, looking to take as many natural unposed photos to capture those feelings and ensure that they are never forgotten...

years of trial and error has left me with a style which I'm just beginning to call my own - not overly-complicated with regards lighting and photoshop effects but images that, I hope, give a sense of the subject, their personality and mood. I love what I do but am also my harshest critic so find myself constantly experimenting and trying to find better, more interesting, ways to bring my ideas to life.

I work on a freelance basis and usually only take on assignments and projects if they really capture my imagination. I freely admit that I take what I do quite seriously, but also like everyone involved to enjoy themselves in the process - if it's not fun, what's the point ...?

I am always looking to strengthen my portfolio and to create some great images. I like a friendly relaxed fun shoot as I think that always brings out the best in all of us
