Across the Dutch Houses of Parliament stands the statue of Haags Jantje: a small boy pointing to the oldest building of The Hague, which was a hunting lodge in the 13th century. There is a centruries old children's song, the first lines of which are: "In Den Haag daar woont een graaf, en zijn zoon heet Jantje, en als je vraagt 'Waar woont je pa?', dan wijst hij met zijn handje" ("In The Hague there lives a count, and his son is called Jantje [=Johnny]. When you ask 'Were does your dad live?' he points with his little hand").
