It’s a long story.
A few years ago I shot a series of reprise photographs for a specialist magazine ... A set featuring early Lotus racing cars in the factory and the then starlet Shirly Anne Field.
Tanya was my model of choice because of her resemblance to the young Shirley.
During my research for the magazine piece, one of the original Lotus mechanics (a man called Bryan) who was part of the shoot back in the late ‘50s, long retired and now living in Australia, got in touch and as a result we gained much inside information about the shoot.
And Bryan was so taken with the Tanya photographs that the memory of the original shoot, and helping with our project re-creating it, quite made his day.
We kept in touch and when Tanya “Retired” he sent me his commiserations from the other side of the World … then he was as delighted as myself when she returned to the fray recently … genuinely elated !
So, talking to Tanya about this at our latest shoot we fell upon the idea of sending him a message.
This is it, and once again we made someone’s day …
Better than an FPI or any accolade, is that not what its all about?
