Brighter and more sparkly than her outfit...

I've been wanting to try my hand at shooting burlesque for a while to test out my Tamron 24-70 G2 lens, which was reported to be brilliant for this. Recently I finally managed to get it all calibrated up (I eventually gave up trying to do it manually and bought Reikan Fo-Cal plus - amazing product!), and got a seat with The Scarlet Vixens at The purple Turtle in Reading.
This lady (Loretta Le Bonke - I'm not sure that's actually her real name...) was the emcee, and was just amazing. There were a few issues with the sound in the first act, and she worked the audience like a total professional and kept it all together. She really is awesome...
So, the results from the test? I've got to say I am at last really pleased with the lens. There are 12 calibration points to get the lens to work properly but it really is worth it. Focus via liveview has always been good. It's now just as good through the viewfinder. In fact it's better, because liveview focus seems to be quite slow in the dark, and Liveview also uses up soooooo much battery.
All in all a great night out with a fantastic show, and also confirmation that I didn't buy a dud!
