My most recent time working with Hermann just reflects the same wonderful experience that it has always been whenever we have had the chance to shoot together! :D Since our very first shoot together organised through Fotoworkshop Studio in Hamburg (ran by Mike Rhys); Hermann and I have repeated working together when the opportunity has bestowed itself - sometimes teamed up with his friend, and as our most recent photo shoot went during my Germany tour in September: solely one-to-one. He’s a delightful person and photographer who injects a very authentic passion into his work, always coming up with ideas/providing fun props and bouncing off the model with a flow of creativity and teamwork respect. I would always look forward to working with Hermann again in the future with, undoubtedly, a whole different range of concepts (and subsequent beautiful images) completely guaranteed. :D

The most recent occasion during which we met up for picture-making brilliance was once again at the Hamburg studio which offers a phenomenal range of lighting and ‘photo set’ opportunities which enables the imagination to run away as you begin introducing ideas and comparing it to how it will work in the studio environment. Hermann is also very versatile in how he works: we did a mix of controlled studio lighting playing with the lights in different places and various lush garments that Hermann again provided. Then as soon as the chance developed with the stunning sunshine through the large windows; we dashed around the corner and I was prancing/rolling between poses as Hermann worked effortlessly to manage the technical conditions and compose a lovely pictures following my movement! He has his own sublime eye for an image, though on the same token he values very highly what a model brings with their workflow and reacts quickly to a models posing repertoire amid also offering good direction when he sees a nice moment in the midst of things. This wasn’t even the beginning: I’m convinced Hermann has a travelling “magical prop store” following him to every shoot because he literally provides the most spectacularly innovative items in abundance... Goodness knows how many trips up the stairs he made as a result, but this all reflects his drive and dynamic enthusiasm as a photographer. :D From several dozen umbrellas to his signature musical instruments, from artistic jumps to cheeky “pin-up” style, from low key to high key... I honestly could go on! But I hope I have suitably expressed how inspired a photographer Hermann is. :)

But of course working with Hermann is not only enjoyable creatively; he also bears a heart of gold, is stupendously friendly and social by nature... and of course very importantly: is an utter gentleman who exerts a huge amount of appreciation and professional-headed courtesy to the models who he works with. He’s wonderful company and someone you could quite easily chat to for the duration of your shoot about just about anything and everything. It makes developing a good working relationship considerably easier because of the positive atmosphere that you are working within as a result of working with super nice people like Hermann. So of course I wholeheartedly recommend him!

I've just had the great pleasure of staying with Hermann over several days of shooting in Kiel. I had long admired his photography- particularly his beautiful athletic images of the great dance model Katy C and the terrific gymnast Ayla- his "flying angels." So I jumped at the chance to work with him. :) Unfortunately our plans got delayed earlier in the year, from circumstances beyond our control- we were originally meant to work together at the end of May- but Hermann managed to kindly reorganize our shoot, so that we were able to work together in October instead.

Hermann arranged for my accommodation with a photographer friend of his, and also for me to work at his favourite beach (which was a wonderful location, and we were very lucky with the weather for a beach shoot in October), and also to shoot at home, and at a studio in Kiel. Hermann was respectful, professional, and kind throughout, and also showed great hospitality, showing me around his hometown, and the beautiful locations there. The images he kindly showed me on the back of his camera looked great- he is very creative and talented, and I hope I will have an opportunity to work with him again.

I worked with Hermann in Hamburg during a studio day. Hermann had lots of ideas and we had great fun shooting with a rope and other styles. Hermann was relaxed, kind, professional and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
