I Started taking live music photos then moved into event, modelling, and others. I like to photograph art and artists and people trying to express themselves. anything legal.I also look for a social or cultural angle.

I put my camera down for a while and following some interest and encouragement I am wondering whether to reinvest my time as in truth I like creating interesting, spontaneous, and thought-provoking images.

I'm not one to spend ages on a particular pose or scene. I like to get variety and spontaneity into a shoot and usually take 300 or 400 shots using different angles/ poses/ props which can be whittled down to about 50. One reason for this is I often take doubles and move quickly from one scene to another and incorporate new light/ subject challenges in the process. This keeps me interested and hopefully the model too.

As the song goes- 'we are all beautiful- in our own way'. I however don't believe that one image alone captures the essence of a subject and having several images shows versatility, variety and depth, and often reveals a side to their personality they have never imagined. "tae see oorsells as ithers see us".

I have recently rented a council garage to keep my drum gear and photo props in. But I realised I can use it for test shoots and experimenting. This has freed up space in my home garage as well. We'll see how this goes.
