Hello there, my name is Alan...

I am a Visual Artist, Performer and Writer with particular interest in “People Posing” in a natural sympathetic yet interpretative poise and with demonstrable empathy in a diversity of natural and man made environments. The incongruity of the imagery is my defining theme.

My background is in Art Education, working with Fine Art, Animation and Illustration classes and students.

IDEAS I SHOOT:

Emotive portraits, raw, expressive, honest, anything that tells a story of the pose ... to express yourself physically.

Natural light, pure beauty shots focusing on the bare contours and expressive features

Elegance, ballet, tango dancer at rest, or gestural movements with the body with fabrics, materials, props etc.

Derelict urban abandoned places, grunge, alternative,  the incongruity of the nudes within architecture, cityscapes, the built environment. The artefacts of prior human existence, emontionalised in expressiveness. 

Classical,  retro, art deco, art nouveau, moderne Fashion, ensembles, trousers, hats - mix of smart and characterful.

Sculptural studio nudes, bodyscapes, abstracts, painting with light & dark monochrome.

Boho-chic, hippie, punk, flowing dresses/skirts, peasant blouses, jewellery and hats.

Human form in the landscape, natural in nature, being one with the environment, inspired.

Cinematic, Hollywood, vintage, film noir especially the genre look of French cinema such as Chabrol,  Truffaut, Éric Rohmer, Buñuel.
