I've been taking photographs since I was in my teens - I'm now in my 70's.  I lived in Dubai in the 80's and was regularly asked to take head-shots for the local drama groups, of which there were many; I also shot dress rehearsals. On returning to England I took a weekend job with the local newspaper, photographing local events including summer fêtes, Christmas Fayres, cheque presentations, sport and in fact anything that was happening locally.

A house move meant I lost my darkroom and my photographic activity dropped off.  In 2010, prior to a school trip to China, I bought my first decent DSLR and rekindled my interest.  Since taking early semi-retirement just over 5 years ago I've bought a (small) home studio and upgraded my cameras.  In recent years I have done a lot of portrait work including head-shots for school productions, school proms, family groups, graduation shots, an anniversary dinner, as well as a few weddings. Most recently I've taken prospectus photos for three schools.

Since joining Purple Port I've been expanding my creativity and range.  I know I still have a long way to go and a lot still to learn but I feel I'm getting better thanks, in no small measure, to the models I have worked with.

I hope to continue working with professional and semi-professional models to further broaden my experience.
