My name is Wes.  Now retired from the medical device and pharmaceutical businesses, I decided to get back into photography.   Additional enjoyment has come with learning and relearning various techniques.  This activity involved moving to digital formats from my prior photography experience using film, mostly 35mm and 120/220.  After a few years of serious digital work that transition is complete, yet the learning continues.

I joined a few photography associations in Southwest Florida.  These have been great experiences as we explore new techniques and share our knowledge with one another.  One club in particular is the Naples Camera Club - filled with skilled people who are fun to be around.  I have assumed the role of their webmaster, which has provided an additional appreciation for photography and the people involved (photographers, models, assistants, et. al.).  The club's website is [url removed] [link removed]

Recently, I have been studying the "old masters" paintings.  The old masters include, but are not limited to Rembrandt, da Vinci, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, and the list goes on.  The lighting methodologies they used to create depth, volume, drama, and mood is fascinating.  Along with other subject matters, these techniques are areas where I plan on focusing.
