Just had the privilege of shooting with Alexandra again. I went on a lighting workshop last week so was keen to try out some of the stuff that I had learnt – Ali was really patient while I got stuff set-up and had all the clothing we’d discussed sorted. As we got on with shooting, it was clear that she really knows as how to model which helped me to get the shots I was aiming for. In fact, as with our previous shoot, we got more good stuff than I’d hoped for.

Alexandra was great to work with, and I was really pleased with the results we managed to achieve. She was able to come up with lots of great poses, and really drove the shoot forward creatively. I found her to be really easy to get along with too, so the morning flew past.

We shot at her home, which makes for a good location - wonderful natural light and lots of space - so that was bonus too.

I'd definately be interested in shooting with her again sometime (and hopefully fairly soon).

My long awaited third shoot with the lovely Alexandra and as before, she welcomed me with her disarming smile. She made me feel completely comfortable as she had the first time ten months ago.

Once again I found myself unable to give her any direction. It was easier to let her weave her magic during each different set- always the sign of a great model.

I brought in more ideas then we could conceivably fit in, even in as long as eight hours and yet she presented a few brilliant ideas of her own which I simply chose to run with. She demonstrated some of her ideas in a very beautiful park near to her house which she had recommended as a location.

To say that Alexandra is such a joy to work with would be an under statement. Her potential is just incredible.

I genuinely cannot wait to work with Alexandra again. Not only would I highly recommend her as a truly dynamic model, one in particular who has helped me grow up and nurse me through the transition from documentary snapper to female portrait photographer, but I would also like to see her talent as an editor further encouraged. Thank you ever so much Alexandra

Working with Ali again was a joy! :-)

She is the loveliest person and pre-shoot comms were fantastic. In addition she has a great wardrobe including many items from her Sparklewood collection which really added colour and style to our shoot.

We shot in a derelict location in Bristol and Ali demonstrated how versatile she is both in modern garb and a floaty diaphanous number in which she looked like the most stunning pre-Raphaelite you've ever seen.

Ali is a natural model, instinctive and works with little or no direction.

I have some great images from the shoot which I'll share as soon as some (very irritating!) IT problems have been sorted out! Thank you Ali - let's shoot again soon! :-)

I just love it when something in life surpasses all expectations! Well today was one of those days when Alexandra J walked straight off her Purpleport page and into my studio!

We had planned to shoot on location after the make up was done but the heavens opened so we reversed our schedule and spent a brilliant time shooting a mixture of stuff in the studio including some very good art nude against a black backdrop.

Alexandra models effortlessly, shifting from one gorgeous pose into another and always catching the light beautifully. She makes the photographer's job a delight! :-)

We then chanced a visit to our location where once again it rained. But after sitting it out for a while the rain eased and Alexandra looked stunning as she modelled a couple of outfits.

I can't recommend Alexandra highly enough: she's funny and easy going but totally professional, hard working and creative :-)

Don't take my word for it - find out for yourselves. You won't be disappointed!

I had a lovely shoot with Ali at her home in a beautiful location. The arrangements went very smoothly, and the shoot itself was really relaxed. Ali is an experienced model, and she could both take direction and strike up her own poses. Her collection of vintage clothes was perfect for a variety of styles, and when we ventured outside on a sunny day she was very good-humoured in the heat. It was all very enjoyable, and the resulting shots were excellent. I really do recommend Ali, and I am already looking forward to arranging another shoot with Ali in the near future.

If you haven't done a shoot with Alexandra yet, you simply must! I was lucky enough to shoot at Alexandra's house, which is simply stunning and she made the whole shoot thoroughly enjoyable, everything from brilliant pre comms to having a wonderfully friendly nature, lovely chat and all round good fun, not to mention she has the best wardrobe you could hope for on shoot! Can't wait to work with Alexandra again! Thank you for a wonderful shoot! :)

Another great shoot with Ali yesterday. Ali's shoots are always fun and exceptionally productive. I great model who I recommend without reservation. Looking forward to more shoots in the future.

An Eye for Beauty

Misunderstandings initially, then various illnesses have conspired to thwart working with Alexandra - until today! But she was worth the wait. Armed with 4 bags she waited patiently on the pavement outside her dwelling until I finally found the right place, and we chatted all the way to the studio. Four hours sped past and we worked together like old friends. What a charming and lovely girl she is! We have produced a range of images using different combinations of outfits we had both produced. She is able to dreamy and willowy right through to fashion-nude with an edge. I now look forward to editing - and later in the year I would love to work with her at her home and catch a glimpse of all those special outfits lined up! A great day, and thank you, Ali. Highly recommended.

I had been counting the days to work with Alexandra again since our first shoot in January. Our second shoot had initially been to tweak many of the ideas which she & I had created together during our first one. Like the first time around, this also proved to be just as exiting and fun filled.

Alexandra is such a lovely person with much more to her than meets the eye. I have found her to be an incredibly diverse model who works extremely hard and, although she never needs much direction if any, she stays true to her promise of helping the photographer get the shot and realize his/her ideas.

I really cannot wait to work with this fine lady who has such a warm, welcoming and beautiful smile, has an unbelievable amount of patience ( how she put up with me bending her ear for six hours about my friends, Newport legends the 60ft Dolls, I just don't know!) She also very understanding and, not only does she have a great sense of humour, but she also has impeccable taste in music.

I cannot recommend Alexandra J highly enough, a model whom I personally feel is a poorly under rated one despite her enviable credentials.

I cannot wait to book a third shoot with her, and even a fourth and fifth!

Had the privilege to shoot with Ali recently. She poses well with minimal direction, came prepared with multiple outfits , is stunningly beautiful and great fun to boot - what else could you ask for?! Would definitely recommend a shoot with Ali and look forward to working together in future!

Another great shoot with Ali yesterday! The usual great hair and make-up, and more great outfits to boot. Ali is always a pleasure to work with and I look forward to our next project. Alexandra J is an extremely talented, hard working and versatile model - and then some! Even after she thoughtfully wrote meticulously detailed directions to her house for me, she still waited for me across the road to meet me off the bus on a freezing cold January morning.

Once we'd arrived at hers, she took it completely upon herself to clean the mud from the wheels of my trolley. This was my responsibility, but I genuinely appreciate her help which she offered refusing my assistance.

Alexandra helped me to both realise all my ideas and concepts and also to make it the most fun anyone could have on set. I really can't wait to work with her again. I would really love to shout it out to everyone to book this model, first chance you get. Not only is she truly among the finest there is, she is a very warm, friendly and one of the very kindest and most patient people I know as she had helped me pack up afterwards and didn't seem to bat an eyelid as I took forever doing so.

Thank you ever so much Alexandra, not only for all the above, but also for helping to bring my Birthday month to such a memorable close.

I had my first shoot with Alexandra this month and I don't think it will be my last. She is an intelligent person and communications went smoothly. She is imho exceptionally beautiful and has the added bonus of a wide range of outfits across many genres. I hope to dig deeper into her vast wardrobe very soon. Highly recommended.

Alexandra and I did a shoot together last week in Bristol and it was my real privilege to work with such a charmingly engaging, energetic and talented person. Alexandra came wonderfully well prepared, bringing a selection of her own vintage / handmade clothing which was fantastic. She worked incredibly hard throughout our time together, seemingly effortlessly capturing the poses I wanted to achieve and her portrayal and transition between a range of different expressions within a sequence shoot we did was outstanding. I have now done 2 shoots with Alexandra and both have been excellent. Alexandra is a most capable model who looks fantastic and throws out pose after pose with ease. After Alexandra replied to my casting we were able to set up a studio shoot at very short notice - helped by her excellent comms and very quick replies. Alexandra is a very pretty model, with a superb range of outfits and ability to pose with or without direction.

She took the mood board I provided and used it to bring a perfect selection of clothes and to pick poses which matched the emotions I was hoping to portray. I am really pleased with the images we created and hope to work with her again soon.

I shot at Alexandra's home yesterday, I couldn't have asked for a better model; friendly, easy to work with and super patient.

She has a fantastic space to shoot in which allowed me to try out a range of different ideas in a non-studio setting. She has a vast array of incredibly dresses and accessories, which means you can really go to town with the styling, there were so many opportunities to create stunning images. I really enjoyed shooting with Alexandra, would love to work with her again, highly recommended.

I had my first photo shoot with Alexandra today. Not only is she beautiful but also very easy and comfortable in front of the camera. But that's only part of it. She really did go the 'extra mile' with the shoot. Prior to the shoot we communicated what was needed and Alexandra made sure she was well prepared with a great variety of clothes for different looks. It all felt like a real collaboration and she had a genuine desire to create great images. I just had a quick look at the pictures and I am so pleased with the results. She is such a lovely person too and I am already thinking about our next shoot.
