Ali is a brilliantly friendly and unique character. Precomms were delightful and upon arriving for the shoot I was offered a hug and herbal tea before sitting down to discuss the shoot. His place had a great vibe, a very welcoming home and home studio. I was given a lot of input on the shoot, as Ali likes to shape ideas around a personality. He was very careful to ensure I was comfortable, fed and hydrated throughout the shoot, had a thorough release form prepared, and had some images edited the next day! I am glad to be a part of Ali's unique 1001 masks of masculinities project, using his own 'hyper-real' technique, and think it is an important, valuable idea.
