We created some incredible images and I can't wait to get my hands on them!

I could never tire of working with Alan... Every shoot is a supermassive dose of creativity and off-the-wall idea goodness! 😁 It’s something to really look forward to when we’ve got a shoot in the diary because it really is a case of: what will we do this time? The possibilities genuinely have to limit!!! 📷

This time: we worked at Alan’s studio space again when I kicked off a tour of the North and Scotland. ☺️ It was my first *decent length* tour for a while because of “you know what” so it meant I had a lot of prepping, last minute check-list checking and all the usual work that comes with arranging a tour. Having Alan as the first stop honestly gave me such reassurance because he’s the loveliest, most easy going person there is; he totally gets it when models are coming to shoot with him as part of an extended trip and all the planning that goes with setting creative shoots up. He’s always so well prepared at his end with moodboards and ideas - even providing outfits! The rest is a case of bouncing off each other once we’ve begun the latest marathon on madness *ahem* creating! 😜 But honestly: shoots with him always fall perfectly into place, and the images we create are so rewarding/next-level groovy! 😎

This time we tried a lot of different kind of concepts: the looks being very individual in terms of both styling and lighting. This kept us both very entertained from both sides of the camera hehe! 😃 There’s just never enough hours in the day with Alan - although it does leave ideas for next time, that’s one way to look at it! And there ALWAYS will be a next time! Anyway *THIS* time, we tried our hand at creative light portraits, atmospheric/abstract (and some what spooky!) use of props, playing with ambient light with a new gadget I’d acquired but not yet used (we nailed it!) and even more stylised setups with full blown room tricks creating an autumnal wonderland! 🤩 Now you see why it’s good fun working with Alan right? Being able to model in ideas like these just gives me so much good energy! And seeing Alan just going for it as his brain ticks away in his studio LITERALLY BUILDING entire complex sets and utilising light in the most fascinating ways... To me, this is what photography is all about! 🙌

The standard fantabulous hospitality was offered, which I imagine many of the models Alan has shot with have commented on. 😊 It’s really appreciated when you’re well looked after, offered a drink/even nibbles and just treated with the utmost of respect... I know it’s pretty basic an expectation to have mutually good etiquette, but with Alan’s ultra kind nature - he just goes that step further and cannot do enough to make models feel welcome! I can’t think of anyone who would make you feel more at ease on a shoot - he’s a genuine good egg with an enormous heart/the sweetest character... And to be honest - we have a laugh whilst we work! One thing people need more of in life is laughter and good convos. ☺️

So you’ve all probably guessed it by now - but yes. Of course I recommend this awesome gentleman. 😃 Alan rocks, and I can’t wait to see the shoot concepts he’ll rock next time! 👌

Today I had a first shoot with Al and it was really fun! :) He prepared moodboard based on both mine and his ideas. His home studio is warm, well equipped with plenty of props. He even has a smoke machine which worked fantastic with our witchy/fortune teller set with mysterious hood, unusual necklace, tarot cards, cristal ball and all! We created some awesome images with pearls, playing cards, bottle of jack daniels and a cigarette. It was really creative shoot, I really enjoyed playing different “characters “. Thank you so much for a wonderful shoot!

Today was my third time shooting with Alan. It is always a compelte pleasure to work with him. We always have a great laugh and come up with spontaenious crazy ideas that end up working so well!

I always feel so comfortbale when working with Alan and the photos we produce together are so wonderful! Always a shoot I am proud to be a part of.

I of course would reccommend Alan to anyone! He is a super person and a super photographer. What is not to like! (plus he has great taste in biscuits and makes a great cup of tea!)

I worked with Alan for the first time last week and have only great things to say!

The pre-shoot communications were great, Alan had a strong concept idea and sourced some amazing props, but also encouraged me to work on my own interpretation of the concept for the makeup.

During the shoot Alan was extremely accommodating and welcomed us into his home studio, he shot tethered so we could see what we were creating live on screen, which is always great for a MUA as it allows me to check for any tweaks or touch ups needed.

The raw images looked great and overall I was super happy with the shoot.

Definitely hoping to work with Alan again soon and would recommend him to anyone!

2W Location

Alan is a very friendly, polite and professional photographer and it was a real pleasure to welcome him on his first visit to Two Wei. A quick review of his port prior to his visit revealed his creative flair and ingenuity and we're loving seeing the images taken on the day - he's flooded the garage, planted a forest in our back garden and made time stand still (or just happen on a twelve o'clock shadow) in the drawing room ;)

We have no reservation whatsoever in recommending Alan to models or studios alike and we really hope we get another visit from him soon!

I shot with Alan for the first time today at Two Wei Location House.

I arrived and Alan was being shown around the venue scoping out the place for light and interesting little nooks. After a quick cuppa we got to creating.

Alan is a very chilled and chatty guy always with a smile on his face. We predominantly used three main areas of the house. The living room with stunning windows capturing the natural light, the attic and also a wonderful out building. We used materials, ladders and after several outfit changes the shoot was done. The time flew by. We much have been having fun 😂👌

It was a pleasure to have met and worked with Alan and I’d recommend high very highly to anyone.

Alan and I always catch up with a bang! 😋 This time he had a whole collection of moodboard ideas at the ready for some very special concepts that he was aiming to execute in and around his studio space. It was a joy to be a part of this and help Alan express the creativity associated with each brief we had for the day... Sometimes if you could’ve spoken to a fly on the wall from the shoot; he’d have probably been like: “what on Earth are these two doing?!” But that’s what is just so lovely about working with Alan! The things we shoot are always totally out-there (even bonkers at times!) but in all the right ways haha! 😆 What a cracking day.

This was also the start of a tour North I was doing: something which generally takes a lot more coordination and planning on my side so that I can make all my shoots on-travel-route work together. Alan is always so great in these circumstances - with brilliant communications and offering as much flexibility as possible to enable me to meet him on my shooting journey. 🙂 He’s really appreciative of all the aspects of a models work in fact: not just their involvement on the day, but all the stuff that needs sorting from the models side... As well as being genuinely interested in the models input (even if he has very specific ideas to shoot - it’s still like a valued collaboration from the initial comms with Alan). So can I just say - what a superb start to my tour! ☺️ Thank you Al!

On the day; ideas were flying here-there-and-everywhere! 🤣 We had set-building, we had innovative makeup, we had lighting in the most fandabidosy ways - you’ve got to shoot with Alan purely for his epic inventiveness with lights! How he thinks up some of these things I just do not know, but I love it and find it really quite inspirational! I mean he’s a great photographer; always putting his heart and soul into his work and allocating a LOT of effort to create something different, yet with technical quality. Full credit to Alan in that respect... It’s just always so exciting to think what in the world we may get up to next with Alan’s creative super-brain hehe!

Utterly perfect professionalism. Time and time again. 😎 Alan strives til’ the end to ensure models feel safe, comfortable and happy when working with him. It’s literally standard (when you go to his) to be offered tea/nibbles upon arrival, and then the minute your teacup runs empty (I’m regularly downing mine because I haven’t finished the first one before he checks me for a top-up! 😄) Stupendous hospitable approach, and the nicest character imaginable. I’ve recommended him many times before - and I recommend him again! I could probably pre-write my reference for him for our next shoot too! 🤣

I had my second shoot with Alan today with another model. Like last time, Alan was AMAZING!

He is exceptionally kind, caring and not to mention a great photographer who always seems to capture you in your best light!

I always feel comfortable when I am around Alan and we always start chatting away throughout the shoot.

I got to see the photos we took on his laptop and I am just so incredibly happy with how many great photos we got!

If you want a polite, professional, enthusiastic photographer then go for Alan!

I would 110% recommend Alan to ANYONE!

Shoot number seven with Alan and going strong!

As ever, a wonderful experience... creative, full of laughter and never a dull moment.

What else can be said about Alan, that I haven't already said? A complete professional in every sense of the word. A gentleman, a good friend and a fellow creative with such an eye for lighting and overflowing with ideas whilst always open to mine.

We worked on some some Gil Elvgren-inspired shots. The details are never lost on Alan and the scene was set perfectly. Alan even indulged me by allowing me to shoot some fun behind the scenes footage for Instagram.

All in all, one of my all-time favourite people to shoot with.

Highy recommend, obviously.

I have shot with Alan soooooo many times now - each time we've created something spectacular, something different to the last time, something inspired... We never fail to bounce off each other with phenomenal teamwork, so when he popped me a message after we'd not had chance to shoot for while - it didn't even need a second of contemplation! :D What's more: we ended up upgrading the shoot to both studio AND location after a little birdie spilled the beans that there were stunning bluebells out at a woodland location! Oh we couldn't miss that! Blessed with a gorgeously sunshiny day too, and a relaxed day to achieve the creative ideas we had discussed just flew by in no time at all! :D

We planned some very special ideas early on for this shoot - Alan is a highly innovative photographer who buts so much thought and creative building into his shoots... You can guarantee an exciting shoot with him because he thinks completely out of the box and works hard to light/compose his images in the most inventive ways! :D This time we were shooting a look with a view for Alan to do significant Photoshop work later to finish the artwork off - this was fun because we really made it our own as we threw all the elements of the concept together to lay the foundations for the cool finish to come. As usual: Alan was ready with props/accessories too; and just generally well prepped! :) We went on to shoot light painting which has it's own challenges - but nailed some super cool photos in the process, and then shot what I can only describe as a Sci-Fi disco set! :P Again: Alan inputting significantly into the shoot with highly innovative lighting/modifier methods/outfit provisions and all the rest. I love it when you get on a roll like this because you're buzzing for the rest of the day then haha - and I certainly was! :) We wrapped up the second half of the day shooting with the sublime photos on location: mystical princess/enchanted forest vibes, a CRAZY idea involving a car and a barmy model, and then some more normal boho fashion up trees too (standard!) :P Alan ended up climbing trees just as much as me at some points - if it wasn't to get that killer angle, then it was to wrestle with his light to produce a nice amount of fill. Committed doesn't seem to cut it with this gent I tell you! :D Absolutely brilliant!

His images always speak for themselves I might add...

Of course it's not a shoot with Alan unless we're having a whale of a time chattering/laughing/catching up as you would expect from a top-rate shoot. :) He is the kindest person you could come across, and really looks after those who come to shoot with him. Tea/biccies - the works! He offers the best hospitality in a safe and friendly working environment which would give any model (new or experienced) total reassurance. :) I really enjoy Alan's company and find that now: we've gelled a great working rapport that enables us to not only have a super productive session of making epic images, but also enjoy banter/and a very pleasant social quality to our shoots. He's just professional and decent in every way, and I seriously cannot reccomend him highly enough! Everything from the communications I've had with Alan, being welcomed and taken care of at his place to the roof-blowing photographs that get churned out every time. It's the complete shoot experience. :)

This was my second shoot with Alan, but our first one-on-one. We were shooting at night to do some light painting and the amount of gadgets he brought was brilliant! He also brought hot tea and biscuits to keep us warm (which was greatly appreciated) and we had lots of fun chatting and shooting. He always has awesome ideas for shoots and it's so much fun creating his artistic visions with him! Alan is a pleasure to work with, highly recommended, I hope we can work together again soon!

This was my first shoot with Alan and definitely not the last! We had been talking for some time but due to covid we just couldn't get a shoot booked until now. The pre-coms were fantastic, I felt so comfortable and am super excited to see the photos! I have finally lived my Merida dream haha.

My sixth shoot with Alan and they just keep getting better and better. Espionage was the theme of choice which is a personal favourite of mine. Alan always indulges my actress side which really helps me come into my own during our shoots.

I will mostly reiterate what i've said before, although it can never be said enough about Alan... a complete gent, a consummate professional, a fantastic eye for the more artistic side of photography and someone i consider to be a real friend at this point.

I genuinely look forward to our shoots as i know they will be fun, creative and productive. The shoot environment is always relaxed and so enjoyable that it never feels like work. I'm never expected to be something that i'm not, i'm always one hundred per cent comfortable and i always feel that my ideas are respected and brought to life with passion and style.

All in all, some of my favourite shoots of my entire career to date. I can't recommend Alan enough.

After long and very detailed discussions and preparations we've finally managed to meet for our first shoot!

The concept was so interesting so I was really looking forward to what we could possibly get out of our work but would never expect the whole process being on such a high level of professionalism!

Alan was kind enough to give me a ride to location and back home afterwards so I could bring more clothes and props with me to the shoot. But the amount of pros he brought... WOW!

We took our time to carefully prepare every single location and were discussing our poses and possible developments during the set. Location Alan managed to find was absolutely beautiful!

Can not wait to see the amazing results of our productive work.

Thank you so much Alan for your kindness and hospitality, willingness to help, patience and professionalism! I could not dream for a better time to shoot.
