I have no interest in remote shoots so please don't ask me.
I began taking 'people pictures' close on 5 years ago now basically to add some further expertise to any existing 'photography skills' I may have had. I like to think that in these 5 years I have progressed, some :)
I have taken pictures of railways, rivers and canals for some years now but I thought the time was right to explore other avenues. I'm pleased that I made this move. I've travelled, listened to, worked with, observed from and very much enjoyed the experience, and still do. I am still learning.
I do like the variations that Natural light can offer but I do work regularly in Studios especially in cooler weather and I'm learning all the time. I have undertaken tuition shoots to learn aspects of lighting, shadows, gels and general composition. These aspects can now be spotted in my pictures.
I'm open minded when it comes to styles, I know my comfort level and I fully respect the levels that models wish to work to. I do my homework before any initial shoot - be assured of that. I try to make my shoots fun and I always have a prop or two in my bag - but never anything to shock, always something to compliment a shoot and to be slightly different at times :)
My references indicate that I am genuine, trustworthy and reliable. I also trust that Models will do their best to meet their commitments just as I do.
It is unlikely therefore that I will shoot with you if you have an unreasonable cancellation policy. I'm a reasonable guy, I pay my Models, I turn up, but I'm not paying cancellation fees for being ill or needed in a family emergency. I will reschedule as quickly as I can but if my family need me then they come first, just as I assume that will be the case for models as well.
If you have to cancel a shoot with me then I wont make a fuss. I will happily reshedule. The essence of this business in my eyes is Confidence, Trust and Respect. I work to those values before a shoot, on the shoot itself and afterwards. I will do pick ups from my local Railway/Bus stations and from homes and I will always ensure my models feel safe in the environment they're working with me in. Returning to rail/bus stations is all part of the shoot so far as I'm concerned.
No shows will not get a second chance. In this day and age a no show and no apology is simply grossly ill mannered in my book.
My PP profile is my 'shop window'. It reflects who I've recently worked with, and where and displays the range of styles that I enjoy shooting. My aim is to capture what I see and not create something that wasn't already in the picture. My style gets views, a lot of them and for that I thank both my models and my viewers :)
I have met some lovely people these past months. Since I registered on Purpleport I have met lots more. I'm sure there are many more out there that I have yet to meet. Who knows - maybe one of them is you :)
