This piece is the second in my series of masquerade paintings. This is 'La Mascarade' representing another meaning of masquerade. To masquerade can mean "to pretend to be someone else." If you masquerade as a sweet, kind-hearted person, you present that image to the world, hiding your true identity as mistress of the night.
