Long time amateur, sometimes professional, very recent adopter of digital but lover of film, even newer to fine art. Amateur focus has been mostly landscape, cityscape, and architecture.

Previous professional experience included studio catalogue large format work and 35mm social events. I am hoping to expand my creative efforts both in digital and fine art.

Formal study in B&W composition, lighting, exposure, film processing and printing in 35mm, Medium Format, and 4x5 across a range of subjects.

I plan to first work on Athletic female forms. I have a significant amount of natural beauty in the form of picturesque landscapes, mountains, lakes, etc. very nearby and hope to work with models in those settings as well as a number of studios, formal and informal, are available in the area. In addition to the array of natural beauty available near me, we occasionally get quite dramatic weather and this comes with dramatic skies which I strive to capture as they occur. 

I expect most of my work will be digital and in B&W though I do have significant amount of film technology in 35mm and Medium Format which I expect I will also use on occasion. 

Having just spent time exploring natural light fine art photos, I plan to continue that exploration for a while.

I share a belief with Plato/Socrates that “all beauty is akin” and, so, for me, natural forms such as flowers, landscapes, humans, etc. and man made forms like furniture and architecture are akin in their beauty, offering opportunities to compare and contrast them in photographs.

While a number of these first images are without models, I expect to revisit many of these with models in the future.
