Me

I am a Sony award-winning semi-pro photographer with 20 years experience. This doesn't necessarily mean that I always know what I'm doing or that I have all the answers, and so I enjoy collaborating with other like-minded people who can contribute to the creative process and put me straight when I lose the plot.

Location

I'm based in central Essex, and able to travel to London and East Anglia. Sometimes further.

Terms

Currently just a hobbyist, so I normally work for a trade of my time for the time of my co-conspirators (TFP), unless I specifically cast for paid work. I look for people who can work with me to create strong results and have a pleasant chat whilst doing it.

Current Creative Direction

At the moment I am enjoying making creative portraits and experimenting with colour and mono using both natural and artificial light. I'm also competent at creating standard theatrical portrait headshots for actors and for other creatives.

Sometimes I try out other photographic genres, but not that often.

When

I have some free time to shoot every month on some weekday lunchtimes and on some weekends.

Where

I don't maintain a dedicated studio; all the images I create are made in found spaces indoors or outdoors. I enjoy having to adapt to a new environment and think on my feet to create impressive results.

Influences

They change of course, but at the moment the work of people like Albert Watson, Peter Lindbergh, Richard Avedon, Kevin Westenberg, Nick Fancher, Jane Bown, and Anton Corbijn rock my world.
