To create a certain type of imagery, the subject needs to be illuminated from below.

I have two "light tables", one spans a trapdoor in my studio's mezzanine floor and the other is built into the base of a large water tray. I have used a 10mm thick acrylic, strong enough to support two models. Approximate size is 2m by 1.2m.

The images below illustrate some of the ways I have used this form of lighting.
