Edmund & JCW - Love Lies Bleeding

Our provincial ballet company created a Sir Elton John biographical program to the superstar's music.  I coordinated an exhibition at the auditoriums to coincide with the performance.  For my submission I explored two themes that receive a feature dance. The first is the aids crisis which decimated the gay community.  In the stunning pas de deux the 2 male dancers perform under a gigantic sword (of Damocles) a symbol of the threat the disease posed to the community. The second theme was the rampant drug use in the music world of the time that threatened the musician's very existance.  The music for the piece was "Someone saved My Life Tonight" and the suggestion seemed to be that perhaps the someone was his future husband.

Working with 2 of my favorite models we created a series images based on the 2 themes from which I worked with a few to create my submissions. This album documents the photo session with Edmund and JCW.
