Self Portraits (with "proper" cameras X-D )

A little insight into my self-portrait journey on the more serious side - and by this I mean snapped with a *REAL* photo-taking device/camera. 😜 After all, there are things a DSLR can do that does over-shine the capability of a phone camera -even though they are pretty advanced these days! Smile

After doing modelling for such a significant period of time - it's natural that you pick up a lot about how light, composition, location/environment etc. affect a picture! And more specifically - how all these things affect you as an individual within that picture (believe it or not - not all the tricks in the book/supposed *rules* of photography work the same for every subject!) Either way; it is quite fun to occasionally take the responsibility as the photographer (as well as jumping in to model!) to see what you poor lot have to endure and think about. Sticking out tongue

For many years; a little bridge camera was my *serious* self portrait toy! Though it was rare it came out to play, and eventually it got to a stage where my phone could probably match the quality anyway... Getting a DSLR was on the to-do list forever; the pandemic, plus the revolutionary push of remote shooting was the kick I needed. 🙈  I've now made a transformation from a total technophobe who - at the start of her modelling career pulled faces of utter confusion at the mention of F stops and so forth, to a complete and utter NERD over it! 🤣 I'm quite loving it now I have to say! Big smile

Does it mean that a model who does know how to a camera will take over your photo shoot? Not at all. My art is my art when I'm making photos and yours is yours. The usual teamwork positivity remains and I simply help/assist to the best of my knowledge when my help and collaborative involvement is welcomed - that has always been the case when people book me. ✅

Y'all just have my sympathy now - when you're debating what equipment to take when packing the rucksack for the hike to a location. 😂 Yes: I have been that model-ographer who struggled taking a load of pointless/overthought crap to a place and didn't use it. 🙈
