Miryam - Altea Spain

I had the great good fortune while out in Spain in December 2018 and January 2019 to be able to photograph a beautiful and creative local model called Miryam.  This is our second shoot where we were based in the attractive old town area of Altea with its narrow streets of white houses and terraces high above the sea.  Altea has many excellent photo locations, it was about 16C which explains why the Spanish including Miryam are wearing sweaters, a cool January to them, almost summer to me!  I was working with a Spanish photographer called Francisco, neither of us had much experience using fill flash outdoors.  Maybe two pictures from the 50 here are without flash but the rest are taken using one Yongnuo 560 flash, off camera, with a basic 33 inch shoot through umbrella on a light stand.  All settings are manual, I underexposed sometimes but the dynamic range of my Nikon D7200 allowed me to recover in post.  I learnt a huge amount from this shoot, I hope people enjoy one of my most successful projects in the colour of a Mediterranean winter day.  I am also grateful to Jorge, Miryam's boyfriend who took the fun behind the scenes shots on his phone.
