I have never heard of this second sun theory, I'll Google it and get back to you, but it's not in the scope of the mission I'm going to go with no. I also don't see how there could be a large object that close that we haven't yet observed.
Well we usually find out a few days before they crash trough our atmosphere at up to 160,000 MPH! I take it the project will allow a better understanding of the pole switching cycle that goes on?
Its apparently a much smaller Sun but still showing gravitational distortion of proportions that would suggest a "large object".

Stuart,
Interest theory, I've just looked it up, but no, we will be pointing at the Sun so won't be looking for evidence for that, my last mission GAIA which launched last year and is creating a 3D map of the galaxy could do though.

That ancient aliens programme is hilarious, I'd love it to be true!

Hmm, where to start. Apparently I am a great painter, car washer, especially bus driver. Besides that I am a student aspiring to be involved in the movie business in some way. I also do decent photography but I don't get noticed for that due to my lack of models around me wanting to get shots for their portfolio, so I have been doing mostly nature and wildlife photography.

I'm a business analyst - so I help businesses become more efficient, specify IT systems and define new business processes - so now you know why I need to get away and take photos

I am now a full-time professional photographer. But, in my prior work life, I was an I.T. System Administrator. Been shooting since the age of 8. To make a living, I worked in retail sales for 14 years and IT for almost 20 years. After a major heart attack 18 mths ago, I made some life changes -- and ended up being able to step out in faith and go full-time as a photographer. I'm lovin' it!

I do software testing for satellites. My current mission is called Solar Orbiter and will orbit the Sun closer than ever before and at an inclination that will allow us to study the poles, which we can't do.
Today though, I am smoking lots to try and stop myself throttling someone who I can't work out why we haven't sacked yet and then re-writing his test report from scratch. We have got rid of him from the department at least.
Can I have his job? :)

Today I would happily give it to you, you'd have to be better than the guy whose report I'm correcting!

It's been a while since I did software testing but I can still write a decent report I think. :)
