I used to design factories and tooling that built cars. Then I started doing videos of them to send to clients, then corporate video. Now I teach people film and TV production and work as a camera op or assistant.

This thread just brought back a lovely memory that made me smile ...
My ex boyfriend (still a very good friend), was, at the time we were together, a VERY good marathon runner and ran for Team GB a few times. However he could never get any sponsorship so had to also work full time as an accountant as well as training for his races.
People used to ask 'what do you do?' ... usually people mean 'what is your paid job?' when they say this.
My boyfriend's reply was always "I RUN". It left a lot of people very bemused (and left us pretty Amused!).

I am currently unemployed, but for the last 20 years I have been working as a Project Planner and PMO Assistant in various company IT projects ranging from Telecomm, Utilities and Insurance.
Prior to that I had a 22 year career with the RAF as an aircraft fitter working on such delights as Lightning’s, Canberra’s, Vulcan’s, Air Cadet Gliders (the old wood and fabric ones), VC10's and the repair and overhaul of pneumatic, hydraulic, cabin conditioning and fuel components. It is interesting that apart from the VC10, everything I worked on is no longer in service, and the VC10 will soon be on the scrap heap.

It's good, but a bit different when you're 30 and everyone else is 18! (was dead pleased at passing for 24 the other day)

Better late than never :) It's so difficult to do anything without a higher education nowadays, not that it makes it much easier with one either!
