I am a Primary Coolant Loop Valve Mechanic for nuclear power systems.
Believe it or not, being a photographer is much more interesting.

I'm a full-time mum to a 16 week old. I'm on maternity leave from a job at a montessori nursery but I'm handing in my notice soon! I'll then be hoping to become a childminder or nanny so I can still work while raising my little one :)

I am recently retired, and I recommend it highly.
My advice:
1) Obtain a large amount of money
2) Stop working
3) Spend the money
The important thing is not to forget Step One.
Don't ask me how I learned that.

I run a software company, but have always loved light and colour and just never used those interests particularly. In the last year got into the sideline of colour correction and grading for short films, and now also into portrait photography; did my first shoot the other day with a family friend who models (and it helped that she did tbh), and that's really spurred me on to make time to do more.

I am a lab supervisor and project interviewer. The lab focuses on youth with problematic sexual behavior. As a project interviewer, I work with high risk families with children 5 and younger to prevent child maltreatment. I plan to apply to PhD programs for clinical psychology this December.

I hunt along the coastline for smooth sea glass, pottery, fossils, any kind of oddity that looks interesting really, and I create jewellery if the pieces are nice enough to display. I'm unable to get a conventional job due to long term illness but I'm still the hardest working person I know.
Given a choice I would have joined the armed forces, but colour blindness & back problems prevented that.
