This is one of the last photos that I made on my photographic expedition to Iceland in 2013. I had met with a local photographer and we were photographing our four models (Aubrey, Brooke, Bjorg and Hallgerdur) near a power station on the southwest coast, where the hot underground water processed by the station had been released and was comfortable enough for the models to sit in. As the day moved on, however, and the tide got higher, the cold waters of the North Atlantic began to mix with the warm waters and signaled that it was time to leave. Perhaps it was the mixing of the cold waters with the warm that caused the steam to rise.  It looks like two of the girls were looking for something, but I don't remember what it was that they were seeking.
