If they don’t matter then I am curious as to why so many people display the rosette on their profile page and yet say they are meaningless! 🤔 They are nice to have and do get you noticed by more creatives than you would if you didn’t get one every so often. There’s no such thing as bad publicity.

I like that they are there. I like looking at them, more than being in the line up myself (although that has always been a positive thing too). I use the FPI's as a sort of short cut to the 'best' that's being produced, without me having to trawl through every single photo that's been taken by every photographer in PP (1,000's!). The variety is good (for an exclusively model site) and some have just been stand-out amazing and truly inspirational.

I don't try for FPIs. I wouldn't know how to.
It is pleasant if I get one but I am also astonished. Genuinely surprised.
I'm not sure what bonus I get however.
My photography consists of contacting models asking them if they will shoot with me for money.
No model has ever given the slightest indication that they have ever seen that I have any FPIs nor have they ever said they have looked at them.
Some of them say they have looked at my portfolio but some haven't.
So I just take photographs in an attempt to get what I think I am trying for.

Whilst I wouldn't reject any that came my way or the attendant ego boost, I can genuinely say that I'm not bothered by them. I'm under no illusions as to the standard of image that I produce, but I'm happy with them in general. If was to go chasing FPIs and likes etc, then I would be applying extra pressure to the process which would negatively affect my enjoyment on the off chance of getting a rosette.

Never had one. Don't really think about them at all. I really shoot for myself. If others like my work, that's a bonus, but primarily, it's an enjoyable hobby that I do for myself.
