I am Andy, based in Hawarden near Chester. I have been taking photos for many years but only got into shooting models around 2 years ago. There are so many awesome people here on PP, not only very skilled but also very friendly. I have set this group up as a means of us being able to swap hints, tips, ideas, suggestions and so on. I hope you all find it useful.

I am Jeremy. I am the hugest, hairiest, loudest photographer on der planet.

I use Cloud and am very pissed off that I use Cloud. Long story involving a counterfeit version of CS5.

I like plug-ins. I accept that there is nothing a plug-in can do that you can't do straight in PS BUT they save a lot of time.

How do you find cloud Jerome?

Synergy Photoworks said, 1383405187

I use Photoshop CC too. I don't really understand what all the fuss is about. The total monthly subscription added up over two years is roughly equivalent to what it would have cost me to upgrade from CS5.5 to CS6 so it seems a pretty good deal to me.

I agree with Jeremy about plugins saving time. I don't use plugins for everything though and when I do use them, I use them selectively on layers so that I can turn the effect on and off and mask it and/or increase or decrease the opacity to taste.

Actions can also be a great time saver.

Hi guys,

My name is Tom, I am a retired Royal Navy Commando, which is how I got into photography as a combat photographer. I never did much in the way of editing, as the photos I took were to be used for training and intelligence, so nothing more than brightness and contrast could be altered.

I have used CS5, but everything looked so overdone, and took a long time to get used to where everything was and what it did. I moved on (took a step down) to Corel Paintshop Photo Pro X3, and found it so simple to use, and got reasonable results. My lack of editing skills has made me work harder on getting the image right in the camera, but I have been unable to give my images any extra "WOW" factor.

I am looking forward to learning how to do things better through this group.

Hi.

I'm a photographer supplying images for book covers which gives me lots of opportunities to play about with my work a lot. Pretty much self taught on all things digital. Great group and glad to be a part of it.

Ay up peeps. I'm Mike.

After setting up a new business 3 years ago doing insurance, we had a spare office so I decided to make it in to a studio. Before shooting models I got the taste for photography by shooting motorbikes flying past me at British superbike races.

I'm a hobbyist and make no money from this at all, it's purely for the fun and creativity. (For now)

I use CC along with as many plugins as I can get my mitts on :). No point reinventing the wheel.

Just started dabbling in scene generation for images in Daz 3d too.

Hi all, I use Bridge and CS5, love shooting outdoors and have a studio too. Love editing images loads and think the idea of a group here is brilliant. My name is Stu, by the way although I suppose that is pretty obvious from my profile.

CS6 myself. I initially started repairing old photographs (mainly Genealogy related), then I started editing photos for people, then when I ran out of them I had to start taking photographs to edit. Entirely self taught - which with me means I've just about read every book on the subject (twice)

Hi all, I am Andrew. Retired three years ago through ill-health and had a chance to start my hobby up again. I have now just opened a studio and am beginning to make this my living. I edit using loads of cloud stuff and I love it.

Hoping to share and pick up tips and tricks.

Hi all, I am Derek, a retired electronics engineer and photographer. I now like to photograph pretty girls with few or no clothes on. No I'm not exactly a perv but it keeps my ticker going and raises my blood pressure when the adrenalin starts working when faced by a beautiful young(ish) lady. They seem to enjoy the experience as well, they probably feel safer with an older guy.

I love the application of the skills I used when I photographed weddings and I love the interactions from the models. Without this I'd probably curl up on the settee and spend my time reading and watching TV. Even though my body is fast approaching 70 and getting creaky my brain still thinks I'm still about 25.

The last time I used Photoshop it was about v3 but I do 90% of my editing in Lightroom and Portrait Professional. Photoshop element come out when I do a few more serious edits and designing posters, etc.

Additionally, to keep my mind and body going I am a trustee and run an advanced photography group for the local University of the Third Age. This is a worldwide organization for people who are no longer in full time employment. It's a great way of making new friends and learning, or teaching, new interests in a social activity.

Hey all, I'm Les aka Toxic, self taught hobbyist using CS5 & LR5 plus plugins from DxO, Nik, Topaz etc. Looking forward to learning more from you guys.

Andrew Bigwood said, 1383495867

Hi there, I'm Andrew from Guildford, using cs6.

I don't use plug-ins that much really, as I'm still finding new things to do with curves, gradient maps, and selective colour amoungst other adjusment layers.

I do a fair bit of composite imaging work if and when I find it enhances what I'm doing, and use my own stock for this purpose.

Always looking to improve and refine.

Hi I'm Kevin.

Been using Photoshop and Lightroom for years.  Currently with CC.

Tried a number of plug-ins and other packages like Portrait Professional, but they never gave me the level of control I wanted.

I use PS & LR daily and still have so much to learn.
