Jaguar type 00

Bit of a shock to me.

I've always associated Jaguar with class and style.

This just looks pretty ugly to me.

I've always wanted to own a Jag. But certainly not some monstrocity like this (mind you, I don't think I could ever bring myself to pay that much for a car).

They did state 120k but I think 200k+ would be more like it. Even a specced up Taycan is 130k and I see about 20 of those a day

Of which about 75% will be leased by companies for senior management rather than bought by individuals.

There is apparently a serious problem with the new and used car markets for very customisable brands - high interest rates cause new buyers to ‘cheap out’ on the spec, this then leaves used stock that is harder to shift even before higher finance costs are taken into account.

I can't help but think Jaguar are not going to succeed going all 'upmarket and all electric'. Yes they are chasing less sales overall but if you look at the depreciation on electric cars at the moment especially in the area they are trying to move into then it is horrendous. But if you can afford the depreciation......

The concept is a bit out there but I can't see people buying into this when the interior is really lacking in any style. I can't see many uk buyers being swayed but maybe this is not the market they are aiming for.

Modern. But if you were looking to head out onto the open road, would you rather be in that or one of these?

I suppose it will look a lot better with a giant doily draped over it.....that would be prize winning.

Classic Car Conversions would do you a nice electric conversion of one of those, I think.  But it is nice to design the skateboard from scratch.

I like to hear the engine and smell the gasoline.

On a more relevant note, I'd like to see some designs that are not computer aided. To me that new jag looks like a sleek lego brick. Obviously subjective - I know some people will love it.

Ugly, Americanised and looks like a chrome plated bar of soap. Can't see old school following staying with the brand (XJ's E-Types etc were machines of beauty).

I was wondering when someone would mention that. How much is that prize worth now?

Mark671 £25k.

Ah well, good luck to the winner. Maybe i'm not equipped to judge what's art and isn't.

Is that the best AI can do? The human management's choice is the failing issue here. The cake comparison is an excellent one!

Will they be doing a diesel version?

It's been a very successful marketing campaign so far. People are talking, it's interrupting feeds and discussions and it's signalling that no, this isn't your grandfather's Jag. How it progresses is yet to be seen.

To be fair with Jag, they have had a stab at it.....but....

No way on earth that car will survive as it is once metal cutting starts.

Bonnet....... doesnt look to conform to anything legal for anything outside the USA.  (ala cybertruck)

Roof...... no one over 5ft will be able to get in side, unless their backside is only 2inches from the ground.  I dont see it fitting a 6ft tall person.

Rear view..... yes we know that some trucks and cars have done away with mirrors, but they have been replaced with rear view cameras that need to be outboard of the bodyshell (tesla, trucks etc)

No suspension travel....... god if it comes out it will do your spine in.

I see this as a talking piece, nothing more.

Anyone that has a new car, can see nothing in this one, and apart from maybe a car show here and there in the world, i dont expect to see this car like this ever.
