Jaguar type 00

Here it is in the flesh:

Forget the pastel pink and baby blue, just there to get a reaction and it certainly has. This car would look quite good in normal colours, quite unique.

Still just looks like a bloated suv sports car hybrid to me. By the time they make that road legal it will be the twin of the new capri.

The question will be, can Jaguar create luxury? The answer to that is a most definite yes, they did in the past and can up their game to RR, Bentley or Aston Martin.

Can they do fast? It is hard not to make a fast EV.

A price tag with a certain level of exclusivity, and their clientele will be buying to make a statement, just like that banana stuck to the wall, that is what all past jag enthusiasts do not get, once you get to a certain price point then normal rules do not apply.

Looks like the Batmobile. Hopefully there's a fast charger in The Batcave.

I work in auto design so there’s been a lot of discussions about it! Overall it’s better than we expected especially as 2d artwork supporting it was abysmal and made it look awful. In the metal it’s 10x better. Although there’s a few caveats here, the stance, proportions are really dramatic, this will stop traffic in a good way, seriously this will stand out (unless it breaks down , JLR after all) but it’s a concept and it’s typical to cheat the proportions of a concept car, lower roof, wider etc. also nothings legal on that, lights , rear view camera too low , think it’s even missing a boot. These can be fixed but if the proportions change too much it’ll look a bit naff. Be interesting to see if you can even fit inside….

I wouldn’t expect the general public on mass to like it, not at this moment in time. Plus it’s a British national sport slagging off new British cars. Inside the industry we tend to notice the more hate, the more successful the car is lol. But It’s unashamedly harsh in some of its flat ish square surfaces. It’s probably designed to test the limits of the acceptable and that was probably the right call.

However it’s really unrefined , some bits even look shit imho but they’re surface refinements only geeky people like me worry about. Strangly jaguars typical do a boring car and refine the living daylights out of it where this is a really strong concept that’s got very little refinement at all.

Unique you say? It looks so much like a Rolls Royce Spectre but with the usual concept car lines of a very low roof, which hardly ever survives even if they do put something like this into production.

Barney57 that’s my worry, if those proportions don’t survive it’ll look like a bargain basement Spectre lol still I’d rather the Rolls but I think that’s still 3x the cost. Whilst there targeting the ultra luxury market of about 120k, you struggle to even get a bmw i7 standard spec for that in these crazy days,, makes me wonder if it’ll cost more.

It's a concept so will be interesting to see how removed from this it will eventually end up. Imho it looks like a 12yr old's Birthday cake. Jaguar's intention is to position itself as a competitor to Bentley/Rolls, I personally would just buy another Bentley if I was back in the market for such a vehicle.

Spectres start at £320k, however most are specced over £450k, could be because they were new, but that is rr business model, getting the most ££ out of their clients, and that does not even touch on the black badge bespoke stuff they do.

I think Jag could be over £200k, a Range is what £130k now

Perception said, 1733259531

They did state 120k but I think 200k+ would be more like it. Even a specced up Taycan is 130k and I see about 20 of those a day

Looks like Jaguar are trying to up the KSI figures for vulnerable road users.

It also looks they are competing with the muskrats Shytytruk for the most ugly vehicle to never get type approval anywhere other than USA.

just started noticing the downward vision angle, basically how far you can see over the bonnet might be way, unfixably terribly below being legal .. which could basically kill any hopes of them keeping the silhouette . Oh well , I’m waiting till 2026 now before saying it’s promising lol

JLR are involved in Formula-e so they may have clues about fast.

The blunt blank front seems odd. Perhaps it is an airbag.

I've thought that front cameras, including low down (and low light and IR) begin to make sense nowadays.

That's what I thought too!

Let's see what the production model looks like. With huge rims and limited suspension travel that looks thoroughly uncomfortable at the moment.

The other half who has no interest in cars whatsoever just looked over my shoulder at it and said "what are they going with? Batman?"
