What's everyone's favourite/most hated accents?

For me my favourite was always any American accent but having lived over there I hate the NY/NJ Italian accent, the southern drawl, and the New England accents and the French accent

Favourites now are female Yorkshire accents and Dutch

Lol. I wouldn't dare state which ones I don't like but I am prepared to say that I rather like Geordie and French :)

Accents - I like acutes and graves. Not so keen on circumflexes.

Wow -- there's really no accent I don't like.

There are affectations I get very bored of (excessive uptalk and vocal fry among them) but no accents.

Accents are amazing things.

A Geordie friend of a friend once told me a funny story about being drunk at Christmas in southern Germany with her husband and discovering that drunk Bavarians and drunk Geordies sound really similar and some of the words make sense across languages.

There are a few which really get on my nerves.  But I'm not going to offend people who have those accents by saying which. I'm sure mine gets on the nerves of other people.  Ditto certain ways of speaking affected by different groups (showing my age) - I'm sure my style of speaking isn't to their taste.

I've worked with a lot of people from India (not people who've moved here or whose parents moved here, people who still live there), and I'm neutral about their accent but as I get older I find it takes me a bit longer to tune in to what they are saying. One of these days I'm going upset someone by asking them to repeat themselves or have a dreadful misunderstanding because I haven't got my ear in.

I'm of similar heritage, but I was born here and always lived here. So I can say what you can't.

It's an annoying accent, especially when they ask you to turn it off and then turn it back on.

- Posh english accent (that talk without hardly moving your lips).

-Spaniards talking English(mine is quite subtle, but you can distinguish us from a mile away).

-Irish accent from phone company help center staff (I can't understand anything they say, but me thinks it's done on purpose).

-East Londoners trying to be cool (help me!)

There’s nothing more alluring than a posh English accent or a soft Irish accent.

My least favourite is a strong welsh accent, which is infuriating as I live in Wales

An American woman — a democratic political activist — who I once went out on a date with described me as sounding to her ears “almost farcically english”.

(She also told me my prediction that Barack Obama would be the Dem nominee and then president was ridiculous.)

Still, one out of two. I am almost farcically english.

A Welsh accent?
Which one of those would that be?
North Welsh and South Welsh accents are about as similar to each other as Geordie and Essex...

A friend at uni came from Ebbw Vale and most people thought she was literally not speaking english when she was. I had no trouble understanding her and sometimes had to translate. From english to english.
