Is it actually coming home?

Doesn't bother me if England win but as we're talking international football England will never be able to bring it home as international football began in Scotland.

It's going to one tough match! Whatever happens, it's going to be quite possibly the most stressful 90mins of my life (or the most joyous)!
What an amazing World Cup this has been, I've loved every minute

As I said. Nothing will have prepared England for a side for whom football is war.

To be honest, I really can't see us getting past Croatia. what do you all think?
As I was saying.....
Croatia are such an under rated team! Full of quality

Bad luck England , but still a great tournament !! Well done to Gareth Southgate & Co.
Going into the World Cup I feared that England might repeat 2014 (going out in the group stages) or maybe 2016 (going out in the Quarter Finals to Iceland).
So getting to the World Cup Semi Final was no mean achievement.
Here's to 2020 and beyond !!

Gutted, but England really restored pride in the national side.
Well done boys

Croatia have quality in midfield there is no doubting that. And what they have upfront is ruthless determination and the ability to seize on lapses in concentration. Their strikers are unrelenting in that. They managed to keep pressure on Jordan Pickford constantly which prevented the passing back with time and his usual good distribution upfield. As soon as England sat back a bit this became lethal. We lost control of the midfield and this was predictable. The attacking tactics of England supremacy of the first half should have continued and whatever they were told at half time proved their undoing. The only way to beat Croatia is through attack. A more moderate side than us - Russia - did that and did better albeit losing on penalties. They have to learn this and find the same ruthless streak Croatia have before the Nations League where they have two legs to play against them. Underestimate Croatia at your peril as I stated; but equally affording them respect as a football side is also a mistake: they are what they are: ultras. They play with nationalistic fervour. It's not a beautiful game to them its a war. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-cup/2018/07/09/croatia-centre-world-cup-cover-up-fifa-admit-secret-let-off/ England must learn to exploit their defensive weaknesses ready for these important two legs as the games against Spain well that will be football and they are likely better at it than us. That's the draw we have it is double legs against Croatia and Spain. Wales have drawn Ireland and Denmark in Division 2, so that will be tough too. And Northern Ireland drawn Austria and Bosnia. Scotland are in a group lower so have Albania and Israel so no excuses there if they don't win and secure promotion.

I think as a nation we have got a bit carried away with this world cup. England had a great draw, did well against Columbia and Sweden but as usual fell short. Putting it in perspective we played six games so far and lost two of them. Our top scorer hasn't showed up in the last two games, more Michael Caine than Harry Kane. Would we have beaten Brazil, Germany, Uruguay or Argentina, not likely. Holland and Italy didn't make the finals but a win against either is questionable.
I personally thought we were a bit safe and I'm not a fan of possession football either, too poncy and oh so boring. I think we should have played with much more pace, packed the midfield, started with Rashford and then put Sterling on in the second half where his pace would have had more effect. Also Sterling's final ball pass rate isn't fantastic and his scoring ability in an England shirt woeful. There are 3 Lions on and England shirt, it's time they played like them.
Congratulations to Croatia who played magnificently in the 2nd half and in extra time. They wanted the win and they deserved it. I hope they beat France on Sunday.

If the truth is to be told then England only played two good teams and lost both times.
I understand the excitement but the English media as usual let their imaginations run riot and the fans bought into it.
Croatia have played Scotland five times and never beaten us.. You should have asked us for advice lol.
And we've beaten France the last two times we've played them too.
So come Sunday we'll be claiming to be world champions haha.

If you watched the football last night, you may have noticed the Croatian team flattened a photographer when they celebrated after equalising. He managed to get some pretty good shots still. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jul/12/photographer-croatia-good-shot-world-cup-yuri-cortez
