This simply has to be the greatest cover version of a song ever recorded. It’s from the “American” series of albums that were recorded just prior to his death in 2003. The whole series runs to 6 albums, all stripped back to the bare bones, mostly just Cash and his guitar.
It’s clear that Cash knows that the end is closing in. This would bring a tear to a glass eye.
