One of the four 'Ring Cycle' operas by Wagner.. 1960s recording on Decca with Solti and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the best (and legendary) Wagner singers of the post-war generation.

Yup.... I'm an opera nut.

Nick Cave & Warren Ellis - Carnage.

This is great too. I had a chance to meet Warren Ellis a few years back (I sold him an instrument) but I had a stinking cold and didn't think it was a good idea! Such a shame.

The thing that annoys me about Classic FM is when they play only parts of works. Playing only one movement of a symphony leaves you with no real understanding of the music.

In the early days it used to infuriate me when the commentaries were often factually incorrect, though that is less common now.  I think they used to patronise what they thought of as uneducated listeners by trying to present 'Classical Music meets Eastenders"

Cliff Mdx ah, well they've got to make room for the adverts hey! i dont mind being patronised as an uneducated listener - it's a reasonable mix with ok presenters! - radio 3 for the full nerd.. composer of the week is quite interesting, plus the concerts but im listening to garage music at the moment!
