Pavarotti was wonderful and Bocceli took over where he left off. But despite the poor quality of old recordings Jussi Bjorling was incredible ... pure and unforced.
The Pearl Fishers duet .... Recorded in 1951 with Robert Merrill and digitally remastered
'Che Gelida Manina' from La Boheme ..... Recorded in 1955 with Victoria de Los Angeles
But I had forgotten how beautiful Pavarotti's voice was when he was younger too (with Nicolai Ghiaurov)
