I am really enjoying re-making film pics and the like at the moment. I have done "great dictator" with myself as the chaplin (more cleese than chaplin) and aslo, The scream by munch, the kiss by klimt, nicholson and pfeiffer poster for "wolf" and a bella/twilight. What classic image would you choose to shoot model hang?

My fave:

Although for recreating one this would be a laugh:

first one is showing broken here.. what is it? second would be fun

Hmmm, it's fine here, anyway it's Disclosure (Demi Moore & Micheal Douglas) - the version of the poster where she's straddling him.  I remember the fuss this caused when it came out and was in all the bus shelters, an awful distraction from driving and fairly risque at the time.

yeah, I considered basic instinct when I was choosing  before for myself and wife, but ended up with wolf

One of my havourites is Dark Side Of The Moon album cover by Hipgnosis mainly for the pure simplicity of it. Hipgnosis produced some of the most iconic artwork for album covers in the 70's and 80's.

Back to the Future. Essentially a composite, it would take some time to recreate... and you'd need a DeLorean.... and some flaming trails, but could be done. The opportunity to quote dialogue throughout the shoot would be unmissable!

maybe doing back to the future with a clapped out old skoda would be as interesting, using the composition to make the derivation obvious but replacing props is an interesting thing. I tried to get my in-laws, in their 70's to do "grease"

Haha! Brilliant idea. It could be a British version (much like the reverse of how British comedy gets glossed up for American remakes).

I did "the scream" and "the kiss"  (and others) with characters from alice in wonderland, its a different version of "cross processing"

Album Covers! Very controversial cover at the time. Flash were a spin-off band from Yes members.

They don't come better than Roger Dean's work.

I loved roger dean as a teenager (and chris foss, kurt geiger) more for the science fiction /fantasy bookcovers than the album work

Or Rodney Matthews! This from the German band Eloy's album Time to Turn. Can't help but think that this artwork inspired the film Avatar.

I get a lot of inspiration from movies - working on a 300 one at the mo :)

people are picking some complicated albums to re-create. I was thinking more of London calling, one shot not quite in focus. Of course it would have to be called Hull calling if I did it at the mo..

I love Drew Struzan's work ... most notably, back to the future, indiana jones, and last samurai.  But favorite posters would have to include the first star wars poster (hiderbrant I think)  and it's more colourful, dirivitive reincarnation:

The episode 3 poster wasnt too shabby either !  http://simonz.co.hu/poster/ep3/ep3-poster25.jpg  (link only - cos it's pretty big)
