50mm
I might crack out the wide angle on occasion but primarily the 50 does what I need

I’m in the Nikon 70-200 f2.8 camp, even indoors if I have room but failing that 24-70f2.8.
Snap 👍

The 24-70 f2.8 has been on my nikon d800 for years as if it’s been glued on the mount.

Same for me on my D3x. Especially as I usually have to work in a very small studio space.

A Fuji portrait lens, the 56mm f/1.2, which in other lenses would be a 84mm. It’s fantastic and I use it for 90% of my shots.

Stills, 80mm Schneider Kreuznach on the PhaseOne; video, 25mm Summilux on a LUMIX. They’re approximately the same width of view and shooting open matte video on a G9M2 is almost exactly the same field of view.

It's a toolbox....whatever suits your feel, location. I love shooting low f stops for that soft dreamy backdrop. 50 to 135, mostly primes on that range.

I was using 24-70 f2.8 for studio shoots, but I recently decided it was a bit heavy & unwieldy (seeing as I wasn't even using it near wide open) so I sold it. I tend to use 35, 50 & 85 primes now (and I just got a super bargain 24-85 f3.5-f4.5 VR which is WAY better than it has any right to be for the £119 I paid LCE for it. Also I recently developed a taste for adapted vintage manual lenses, but they're not really the thing for faster paced group shoots (where they put you on a timer for your turn shooting.)

24mm F1.4, 50mm F1.4 and an 85mm F1.8
I use to use a 70-200 f2.8 a lot in the studio and outside and i have no idea why, the 85 is so much lighter and unwieldy
