I have just suggested a photo for an FPI, but it doesn't go to the Suggested FPI page and there is no sign of it in there. Can anyone think of why this would be, or is it a bug?

Maybe it is already on the real FPI queue. The owner could check in Image Manager or by trying to edit it. I don't think that anyone else can.

Thanks B.J The tog checked it's not there in the FPI queue? If it had already been in the queue but didn't make it to an FPI, can it go back in the queue for a second, 3rd or 4th time?

Unless it’s a very new image it’s possible someone may have suggested way before you. So it could be well down in the suggested list, not at the top.
In answer to your question re can it go into the actual queue multiple times, I think so. A long while back I became aware that a particular image of mine was locked (which I understand is a good indicator that it’s in the actual FPI queue). Later I found it was unlocked. Much later it became an FPI. Which made me conclude it was in the FPI queue, then wasn’t (so I assume voted off) then sometime later went on again and that time didn’t get booted. So I’d say yes, I think images can get in the FPI queue more than once if selected then ejected

If an image is in the FPI queue proper, then "Suggest" is not available, so that rules out that possibility.
If it has already been suggested, then it will have a place in that collection. Suggesting it a second time will not re-add it, so it won't get moved to the top.
An image will remain in the Suggested collection for 3 months (except under certain conditions*). At the end of that, it gets removed, and someone can re-suggest it and it will get re-added at the beginning.
Last time I looked, 3 months meant about 200 pages of the suggested queue. You'd have to check all of them.

- The image gets added to the FPI queue proper.
- It gets deleted.
- It gets added to a private album. Removing it from the private album won't re-add it to that collection, nor to other collections it might have been in.

Back when I was an Elf, it was 3 months.
