Curiosity question.

I rarely rant, but here we go. Why do so many not tag relevant people in the images they create?

As photographers, we're all aware that these social media based portfolio sites are basically advertising platforms for models and MUAs to get more work. So why create a barrier for them to do this by not letting others know who they have worked with. Yay you created an amazing image with an amazing model and or MUA, why would you not share that information.

Gate keeping actually stops them getting work. If models are not on this platform but they work in the industry, then put their name in the title. I know some of us miss labelling occasionally, and I'm no different, but to do it on a consistent basis strikes me as strange and rather frustrating.

I am planning on doing a lot of shooting in 2025 now I'm back on my feet properly, so been researching and browsing and finding many I'd love to contact but have no idea who they are.

From now on I'm not liking any images that arena't properly labelled and blocking photographers who do it consistently as it's so frustrating.

Rant over, sure this isn't going to go down well haha

Some models have approval set on tags so you want see the tag until they approve.

Some models untag themselves

Some models leave which untags them

Sometimes a change of username makes them difficult to find so they can tag

Some people are just too lazy/disorganised.

I wouldn’t make assumptions

Because they don’t want to, don’t choose to, there could be a myriad of reasons. It's a matter of personal preference and choice. It’s entirely up to them rather than do it because others think they should.

You could always ask the tog who the model is?

The credits works both ways though because some models don't credit photographers. I recently asked a model who took a photo on Instagram and was ghosted.

This has been asked/questioned/duscussed may times on here. I think Stibnite has summed it up.

Works the same way with models. So many times I see beautiful shots but the photographer not credited and you ask who the photographer is and just get ghosted.

People want to keep good stuff to themselves 😄

This is not going to end well , I think Stibnite has hit the nail on the head with his reply  What ever the reasons are is it really worth throwing your toys out of the pram and going on a mad blocking rampage ??

This question has been asked before.  There's a summary of the reasons in https://purpleport.com/articles/1133/crediting-other-members-in-images-1/

MarcAyresPhoto Out of interest, why do some of your pictures - such as of NausicaaYami and Lulu Lockhart - not have them tagged?
