Hi everyone.

I’m looking for some advice.

I currently have a Sony A380 (it doesn’t fly as well as the airbus version).

I’m looking to get a new camera and have a budget of around £1000.

I shot all different styles but I find my current camera isn’t very good for sports photography as its shutter speed is not particularly fast and will take a shot every second/second and a half so I miss some action parts.

Also, studios I have been to never have an adapter for their lights that seem to work with a Sony (granted only done a couple of studio shoots)

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The 7D was a good sports camera.

Buy used - so many bargains out there at present with the move to mirrorless.

I had a pair of RP bodies and loved them, but they aren't the most modern mirrorless. Again, a bargain.

Personally, I prefer to shoot Nikon and Fuji, but if you wanted to stay with a Sony system I can heartily recommend the a7iii as I had the use of one for a while and was seriously impressed - low-mileage examples currently on eBay for about £800.

The A380 is a fairly old APS-C A-Mount model - it also had the old iISO hotshoe, which was completely different to anything else (you could get decent triggers for them, Pixel King made a set, but they were more expensive than many, and not that easy to find).

What lenses do you have for the camera?
There are some A-Mount lenses that can be reasonably easily adapted to the current Sony E-Mount cameras, and which will perform well, but there are also a number of 'average' lenses where you'd probably be better off selling everything and starting from scratch!

"it doesn’t fly as well as the airbus version".....

Have you tried putting it on airplane mode?

(I'll see myself out)
