Models who can show two sides

Anyone noticed models who can change from what looks like the real everyday self to the model ?

Very similar to actors and singers in the mainstream. There is one model here , I have not shot with her but who I clearly see it in her work.

I question is it because she's that good artistically or is it just a difference between old and new photography? Maybe some models delete their old photos and that's why. For me personally I think it's an art and this model does it through ability or perhaps it's just make up, she's not afraid to show her less sexy side.

Same with actors only a few can do it.

Is that another way of saying that she's acting?  To me that's the sign of a good model.

That sums it up for me, too.

Gothic Image I just think this model is very good.

For me she shows a variety of change in the persona put forward. Usually when people use the word versatility here they simply mean levels but I think this model does it in who she becomes. What's interesting is she has only been doing some genres a short while.

Tbh A large number of models I've shot with don't look like their "model" selves when I've picked them up from the station or met them in a studio.  I'm often amazed at the transformation that takes place once the shoot starts (and I don't mean hair and make up)

I have a background in acting and always hope that people notice my versatility in my portfolio.

Acting is always my first passion

I certainly don't use versatility in that way, it's more about the model being able to portray different characters.  The models I prefer will get in character, even posing differently depending on what they're wearing.

Really?  I hope that's not "usual"!

Gothic Image yes but yet not many can actually do this character thing truly. Sometimes it's done to blatantly to be art, it becomes a caricature.

I’m always drawn to work with models who aren’t afraid to ‘be themselves’, or who aren’t afraid to not look ‘pretty’. It is in part an ability to ‘act’ or to play a role, and in part not being so into their own brand that they won’t let go of their public image. Fortunately there are a lot of models on here and elsewhere who can pull it off, and they are a joy to work with.

Sensual Art levels are a form of versatility but they are not character shaping versatility.

That’s the beauty of models, they are chameleons.

I have photographed a number of models over the years that you would ordinarily pass by in the street but once they’re made up and go into model mode I’ve been astounded by them.

JonC indeed, setting themselves aside for the sake of the image can take many forms, including the wearing of masks (or otherwise being anonymous) as has been discussed recently.  You're right, there are enough on here that a "target image" can almost always be created, with minimal fuss, and with maximum engagement from someone who similar enjoys being a part of that creative process.

It's worth noting that I only post a portion of my modelling on Purpleport, more 'catalogue' style, brand stuff, and all the jobs that I don't get images from wont be seen here and I imagine most other models are the same. So always worth remembering that we have whole portfolios of work that you don't see here too

That's another aspect of the same thing, I think.  Some models only assume a model persona in front of a camera.

For me the very best models are nearly always great actors. Their personality seldom matches the way they come across in the images and I wouldn't have it any other way.
